1. What Is Trust Smile?
Choosing dental treatment abroad is one of the most important healthcare decisions you can make.
For many patients, it means placing their health, their time, and their trust in people they have never met before. It also means navigating unfamiliar healthcare systems, coordinating appointments from another country, and making decisions that can significantly impact both quality of life and long-term health.
That is exactly why Trust Smile was created.
Trust Smile is not a dental clinic.
Nor are we a traditional dental tourism company.
We are an international patient care platform founded by experienced healthcare professionals with backgrounds in pharmaceutical care, patient coordination, and healthcare management. Our team understands that receiving treatment abroad is far more than booking a flight or scheduling an appointment—it is a healthcare journey that deserves careful planning, clear communication, and personalized support.
We work alongside carefully selected specialists and accredited clinical environments in Costa Rica to help patients access advanced dental rehabilitation, implant dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and other complex treatments.
Rather than replacing the specialists who provide your care, our role is to coordinate every stage of the process.
From your first consultation and specialist review to travel planning, treatment coordination, recovery guidance, and long-term follow-up, we remain your single point of contact throughout the journey.
Our mission is simple:
To connect patients with experienced specialists while providing the guidance, organization, and support needed to make treatment abroad feel safe, transparent, and predictable.
Because we believe no one should have to navigate an important healthcare decision alone.
You Are Not Traveling Alone.
2. Why Choose Costa Rica for Dental Treatment?
Every year, thousands of patients from the United States, Canada, and around the world travel to Costa Rica seeking advanced dental care.
While many people initially discover Costa Rica because of the potential cost savings, they ultimately choose to receive treatment here for a much more important reason: quality.
Costa Rica has earned an international reputation for highly trained specialists, modern clinical facilities, advanced digital technology, and personalized patient care. Many dentists and surgeons have received international training and routinely perform complex procedures using techniques comparable to those found in leading dental centers worldwide.
Patients also appreciate the ability to receive comprehensive treatment without the long waiting periods that are often experienced elsewhere.
At Trust Smile, we believe the decision to travel should never be based on price alone.
Instead, we encourage patients to evaluate the complete experience:
- The qualifications of the specialists.
- The quality of the clinical environment.
- The technology available for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- The level of communication before, during, and after treatment.
- The confidence of having an experienced healthcare team coordinating every step.
When these elements come together, patients often discover that Costa Rica offers exceptional value—not simply because treatment may cost less than in the United States or Canada, but because they receive highly personalized care in a welcoming environment dedicated to their long-term health.
For us, Costa Rica is more than a destination.
It is where advanced specialist care meets genuine hospitality.
3. Why Choose Trust Smile Instead of Booking Directly with a Clinic?
This is one of the most important questions you can ask—and one we encourage every patient to consider carefully.
Many dental clinics provide excellent clinical care. However, receiving treatment abroad involves much more than the clinical procedure itself.
International patients often need help understanding treatment options, comparing recommendations, organizing travel, coordinating appointments, preparing for recovery, communicating in another country, and knowing who to contact if questions arise before or after treatment.
That is where Trust Smile makes a difference.
Rather than simply referring patients to a clinic, we provide healthcare-guided patient coordination throughout the entire journey.
Because our team comes from healthcare backgrounds, we understand both the clinical and personal aspects of receiving treatment abroad. We work closely with your treating specialists while remaining focused on your overall experience as a patient.
Our responsibility is to ensure that every stage of your journey is organized, transparent, and carefully coordinated—from the first records you send us to your recovery after returning home.
Think of us as your dedicated patient advocate and coordinator.
We help simplify communication, coordinate specialists, organize logistics, answer questions, and provide continuity throughout the treatment process.
Most importantly, we remain available before, during, and after your visit. Our relationship with patients does not begin when they arrive in Costa Rica.
It begins the moment they decide to trust us with one of the most important healthcare decisions of their lives.
That is the difference between booking an appointment and having a healthcare team guiding your entire journey.4. Am I a Candidate for Treatment?
One of the first questions patients ask is whether they are a candidate for treatment.
The answer is rarely as simple as yes or no.
Every smile, every medical history, and every patient’s goals are different. Two people with similar dental problems may require completely different treatment approaches depending on factors such as bone quality, oral health, existing restorations, medical conditions, bite function, and long-term expectations.
That is why we never make assumptions based on a single photograph or a brief description.
Instead, every journey begins with a comprehensive specialist review.
Patients are invited to send photographs of their smile, panoramic X-rays, or a CBCT scan whenever available. These records allow our specialists to better understand your current condition before discussing treatment recommendations.
Depending on your case, additional information may be requested to ensure the most accurate evaluation possible.
Our objective is not to recommend the most extensive treatment.
Our objective is to recommend the most appropriate treatment.
In some cases, a patient may benefit from dental implants or full-mouth rehabilitation. Others may be candidates for smile design, orthodontic treatment, or restorative procedures that preserve their natural teeth.
Occasionally, we may determine that treatment should not be performed at this time or that another approach would better serve the patient’s long-term health.
We believe honesty is one of the most important parts of healthcare.
If a procedure is not in your best interest, we will tell you.
Our recommendations are always based on what we believe will provide the safest, most predictable, and most durable outcome for your individual situation.
Our goal is not simply to create beautiful smiles.
Our goal is to help you make the right healthcare decision.
5. Who Will Perform My Treatment?
Choosing the right specialist is one of the most important decisions you can make when considering treatment abroad.
At Trust Smile, every patient is matched with experienced specialists according to their diagnosis and treatment needs.
Rather than relying on a single provider for every procedure, we believe complex care often benefits from collaboration between professionals with different areas of expertise.
Depending on your treatment plan, your care may involve specialists in implant dentistry, restorative rehabilitation, oral and maxillofacial surgery, anesthesia, periodontics, endodontics, and other dental disciplines.
For patients requiring full-mouth rehabilitation or implant reconstruction, restorative planning and surgical treatment are carefully coordinated to achieve both functional and aesthetic success.
Patients requiring orthognathic surgery or other advanced surgical procedures receive treatment from specialists experienced in managing complex cases involving facial balance, skeletal discrepancies, airway function, and comprehensive rehabilitation.
Every treatment plan is developed according to your specific diagnosis—not according to a standardized protocol.
Our philosophy is simple.
The right specialist should perform the right procedure at the right time.
That collaborative approach allows us to deliver personalized care focused on long-term health, function, and predictable outcomes.
6. Where Will My Treatment Take Place?
Patients often ask whether all treatments are performed in the same location.
The answer depends on the type and complexity of the procedure being performed.
Most dental treatments are completed at ClĂnica del Norte, a multidisciplinary dental center equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging, digital treatment planning technologies, surgical suites, and in-house laboratory support.
This environment allows specialists to work closely together while maintaining efficient communication throughout the treatment process.
For selected complex surgical procedures, treatment may be performed within a hospital operating room environment when additional surgical resources, anesthesia services, or hospital facilities are required.
Choosing the most appropriate clinical setting is part of our commitment to patient safety.
Rather than trying to perform every procedure in the same environment, we believe each patient should receive care in the facility best suited to the complexity of the treatment being performed.
Regardless of where your procedure takes place, Trust Smile continues coordinating your care throughout the entire journey.
Our role remains the same before, during, and after treatment.
To ensure every part of your experience is carefully organized and fully supported.

7. How Much Does Treatment Cost?
When considering dental treatment abroad, one of the first questions patients ask is about cost. It is a completely understandable concern—but it is also one of the most difficult questions to answer without first understanding your clinical needs.
At Trust Smile, we believe treatment should never be recommended based on a budget alone. It should be based on a thorough diagnosis, your long-term oral health, and the solution that will provide the best functional and aesthetic outcome.
That is why we do not believe in “one-size-fits-all” pricing.
Some patients may require a single implant, while others need full-mouth rehabilitation involving implants, crowns, periodontal therapy, or surgical procedures. Even patients with similar symptoms may require very different treatment approaches.
Following your specialist evaluation, you will receive a personalized treatment plan that clearly outlines:
- Your diagnosis
- Recommended procedures
- Estimated treatment timeline
- A detailed investment estimate
- What is included in your treatment
We believe financial transparency is an essential part of quality healthcare.
There are no hidden fees, unexpected charges, or pressure to accept treatment.
Our role is to provide the information you need so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
While many international patients benefit from significant savings compared to treatment costs in the United States and Canada, our goal is never to compete on price alone.
We compete on quality, coordination, specialist expertise, and the confidence that comes from knowing your care has been carefully planned.
8. What Is Included in My Treatment Plan?
A treatment plan is much more than a quotation.
It is a personalized roadmap designed specifically for your clinical condition and long-term goals.
After reviewing your records, our specialists prepare a detailed plan explaining not only what treatment is recommended, but why it is recommended.
Depending on your individual case, your treatment plan may include:
- Clinical diagnosis
- Specialist recommendations
- Digital treatment planning
- Proposed procedures
- Estimated treatment timeline
- Investment estimate
- Travel recommendations
- Recovery expectations
- Follow-up guidance
Whenever possible, we also explain alternative treatment options so you fully understand the advantages, limitations, and long-term expectations of each approach.
Our philosophy is that informed patients make better healthcare decisions.
We want you to understand your treatment—not simply accept it.
Before making any travel arrangements, you should feel confident that you understand the diagnosis, the recommended procedures, the expected outcome, and every step of the journey ahead.
That level of clarity is an important part of the Trust Smile experience.
9. How Long Should I Stay in Costa Rica?
The length of your stay depends entirely on the type of treatment you require.
Some procedures can be completed within a few days, while others require additional appointments or recovery time to ensure the best possible outcome.
Many implant and restorative treatments are completed during a stay of approximately one week.
More comprehensive procedures, such as full-mouth rehabilitation or complex surgical treatment, may require additional time depending on the clinical situation.
Before you travel, your Patient Coordinator will prepare a personalized itinerary outlining:
- Consultation appointments
- Diagnostic imaging
- Treatment dates
- Recovery recommendations
- Follow-up visits
Our objective is to organize your schedule efficiently while allowing adequate time for healing and clinical evaluation before returning home.
We understand that international travel requires careful planning.
That is why we coordinate appointments with your treatment timeline in mind, helping you make the most of your stay while prioritizing your health and recovery.
Every recommendation is individualized because no two patients—and no two treatment plans—are exactly the same.
10. What Happens After I Return Home?
One of the biggest concerns patients have when considering treatment abroad is what happens once they return home.
It is a completely valid question—and one that deserves a clear answer.
At Trust Smile, we believe your care does not end when you board your flight home. In many ways, your recovery is just beginning, and we remain committed to supporting you throughout that process.
Before leaving Costa Rica, you will receive detailed postoperative instructions, medication guidance, oral hygiene recommendations, dietary advice, and recovery expectations specific to your treatment.
Our team will explain what is considered a normal part of healing, what milestones you can expect during recovery, and when you should contact us if you have questions or concerns.
Once you return home, you continue to have direct communication with your Patient Coordinator.
If needed, we can arrange virtual follow-up appointments with your treating specialist, review photographs or X-rays, and provide guidance regarding your recovery progress.
When appropriate, we can also communicate with your local dentist to ensure continuity of care and facilitate any future maintenance or follow-up treatment.
For treatments that require a second visit—such as the delivery of a definitive full-arch prosthesis—we will help coordinate the appropriate timeline and prepare every aspect of your return.
Most importantly, you are never left wondering who to contact.
From your first message to your final follow-up, there is always a dedicated team ready to answer your questions and support your recovery.
That continuity of care is one of the principles on which Trust Smile was founded.
Because excellent treatment is not defined only by the day of surgery.
It is defined by how patients are cared for before, during, and long after treatment has been completed.
11. How Do I Get Started?
Beginning your treatment journey is often much easier than patients expect.
The first step is simply reaching out to our team.
From there, your dedicated Patient Coordinator will guide you through each stage of the evaluation process, ensuring you understand what information is needed and what to expect next.
To begin your specialist review, we typically request:
- Photographs of your smile
- A panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan (if available)
- Any previous dental records that may be relevant
- A brief description of your concerns, symptoms, and treatment goals
Once these records are received, they are carefully reviewed by the appropriate specialist or multidisciplinary team, depending on the complexity of your case.
If additional information is needed, we will let you know before making any recommendations.
After your evaluation, we will schedule a virtual consultation to discuss your diagnosis, recommended treatment options, expected timeline, estimated investment, and answer every question you may have.
Only when you feel comfortable moving forward do we begin coordinating travel dates, appointments, accommodations, and the remaining details of your visit.
Our goal is never to pressure patients into making a decision.
Our goal is to provide the information, guidance, and support needed for you to make the decision that is right for you.
From the moment you contact Trust Smile, you are supported by a healthcare team that understands both the clinical and personal aspects of traveling abroad for treatment.
Every conversation, every recommendation, and every step of the process is guided by one simple philosophy:
You Are Not Traveling Alone.
